This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary relationship manager for Velera, focusing on the largest revenue-generating and strategically significant member-owner credit unions.
• Engage with senior executives of credit unions through on-site visits to identify strategic opportunities and enhance portfolio performance.
• Track and communicate the value of Velera’s products, solutions, and partnerships.
• Conduct Strategic Business Reviews and share expertise in the payment and ecommerce sectors.
• Align the objectives of credit unions with Velera’s offerings to optimize the value proposition.
• Utilize a consultative sales approach to identify growth opportunities.
• Assess market intelligence and inform management of significant industry developments.
• Create proposals, pricing comparisons, proformas, and program analyses; negotiate contracts and renewal agreements.
• Sustain and expand assigned-book revenue while generating leads for additional service lines.
• Foster executive relationships, oversee strategic initiatives, and address escalated issues.
• Present at Velera-sponsored events, credit union staff meetings, Board of Directors meetings, advisory groups, and other engagements.
• Escalate relationship concerns and at-risk contract renewals to appropriate leaders along with retention action plans.
• Innovate and execute creative strategies to grow Velera's business while managing sales leads.
• Stay informed about trends in payments, card, ecommerce, credit unions, Visa, MasterCard, Velera, and competitors.
• Collaborate with product teams for new product development and facilitate interdepartmental communications.
• Act as a liaison for product implementations, program launches, and major projects.
• Keep current account plans, opportunities, and accurate portfolio records in Salesforce and Velera’s client database.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in marketing, business development, consulting, sales, or relationship management is required.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of B2B/B2BC experience is required.
• Willingness to travel as needed, approximately 41-50% of the time.
• Experience in Financial Services or Consulting is preferred.
• A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with the payments, ecommerce, credit, and debit card industries and their operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of card processing platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret P&L statements, NCUA 5300 Call Reports, and monthly financial statements.
• Proven experience in managing client relationships involving annual revenues of $3.5 million or more.
