This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Develop, analyze, interpret, report, and present historical and/or projected financial claims expenses and stop-loss coverage information.
• Prepare financials related to claims expenses, estimated claim costs, financial forecasts, and conduct business-related analysis and research.
• Oversee and coordinate the preparation of stop-loss coverage for employer groups or stop-loss vendors.
• Generate reports and analyses for self-funded groups, stop-loss vendors, sales teams, underwriting, and other relevant audiences.
• Execute monthly variance analysis at the employer-group or consolidated-company level.
• Provide guidance to management regarding financial policies, procedures, applications, historical performance, planning, and forecasting.
• Review both internal and external reports for accuracy, which includes membership, commissions, and the impacts of large claims.
• Prepare transactions for employer groups and reconcile statements of account.
• Assist with monthly, run-out, and final closeout activities, schedules, and general accounting functions.
• Process client transactions that involve suspended or held claims, run-out administrative fees, and employer-group settlements.
• Assess stop-loss benefit eligibility based on claimant contract terms.
• Act as a liaison for internal and external audits and projects, aiding in planning, testing, training, and implementation.
• Conduct quality reviews of operational inquiries and share results with coaching and training suggestions.
• Manage complex eligibility and documentation issues while collaborating with producers and supporting underwriting referrals.
• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (if applicable).
• 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• Alternatively, 5+ years of experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in analyzing and interpreting data to facilitate business decisions.
• Proven experience in presenting information to clients, customers, or business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently.
• Background in working with healthcare, insurance, claims, or benefits-related data.
• Preferred experience with stop-loss coverage concepts.
• Experience in supporting external clients or engaging in customer-facing business functions.
