Claims Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations, assessments, and determine coverage along with potential claim resolutions.

• Assess the necessity for external legal counsel; oversee claims and/or litigation until final resolution.

• Engage in negotiations with claimants, opposing attorneys, and third parties for settlement.

• Take part in mediations and fulfill other required court appearances.

• Review and authorize invoices related to costs and legal fees.

• Conduct and assist with initial assessments for recovery opportunities.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of activities related to claim files.

• Assess and respond to clearance or curative demands.

• Undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned.

• Must possess a self-motivated attitude, keen attention to detail, and excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

• Consistent focus on detail and dedication to precision.

• Advanced skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.

• Licensed and in good standing in any jurisdiction is acceptable.

• Preferred 3 to 5 years of experience in title insurance, a related field, or litigation experience.

• Basic understanding of real property and insurance law.

• Recent law graduates will also be considered.
