Civil Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct quantity takeoff activities in line with industry best practices for estimating.

• Leverage estimating software tools to enhance precision and efficiency.

• Assist in the planning and execution of estimates for moderately complex projects.

• Tailor estimating methodologies to fit specific project needs and conditions.

• Integrate geographical and contingency variables into estimates.

• Evaluate resource availability and productivity factors in job estimates.

• Keep updated on water and wastewater design and construction practices.

• Help manage and oversee estimating databases to ensure they contain accurate and pertinent information.

• Offer mentorship, advice, support, and knowledge-sharing to junior team members as necessary.

• Undertake additional tasks as required by changing circumstances.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in estimating or a related domain.

• Knowledge of estimating best practices and associated software tools.

• Comprehension of methodologies used in water and wastewater design and construction.

• Proficiency in developing quantity takeoffs and executing estimate planning and processes.

• Awareness of geographical and contingency factors that influence estimates.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skills in presenting estimates and calculations to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong investigative skills to gather data sets and information necessary for estimates.

• Experience in creating work breakdown structures for estimating and construction timelines.

• Basic experience in detailing work breakdown structures and managing construction schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6.

• Field experience as a Construction Manager, Field Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, or Resident Project Representative in an engineering or contracting context.

• Experience in developing construction schedules using software tools.

• A Bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
