This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Design & Engineer: Develop structural and geotechnical designs for intricate ground retention systems, CFA piling, hand piling, comprehensive basement excavations, shoring systems, and demolition tasks. Experience across the complete early-works spectrum is crucial.
• Solve Complex Challenges: Swiftly adapt and refine designs to tackle unpredictable on-site soil conditions, adverse weather effects, and structural limitations.
• Collaborate & Coordinate: Partner closely with the pre-construction and operations teams to guarantee a smooth transition from design to execution. Take an active role in the estimating process, aiding the team in scoping, pricing, and coordinating trade packages.
• Analyze Technical Data: Evaluate geotechnical reports, site surveys, and structural blueprints to devise the most efficient, cost-effective, and safe foundation solutions.
• Ensure Compliance: Uphold rigorous adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, and engineering best practices across all project outputs.
• Estimate & Quote: Create detailed take-offs, cost estimates, and client-ready proposals for piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition projects. Manage the technical contributions to the quoting process and assist in crafting competitive submissions.
• Support Field Operations: Deliver hands-on technical assistance to on-site teams during challenging groundworks, ensuring that design intent is achieved and any construction deviations are addressed promptly.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Over 3 years of demonstrated engineering experience in Australia, particularly in foundation design, piling (CFA, bored, hand), ground retention, shoring, excavation, and demolition. Proven familiarity with Australian construction standards, codes, and project environments is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in structural and geotechnical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, WALLAP, PLAXIS, or equivalent industry tools).
• Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of soil mechanics, groundworks/early works phases, and Australian construction standards including NCC, AS/NZS codes, and local council requirements.
• Analytical Skills: Proven capacity to accurately interpret complex geotechnical reports and convert that data into actionable, structurally sound designs.
• Estimating & Commercial Acumen: Established ability to prepare take-offs, cost estimates, and client-facing quotes for piling, shoring, excavation, and demolition scopes. Proficient in navigating both the design and pre-construction commercial functions.
