Civil Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and management of civil engineering initiatives related to land development, public infrastructure, site facilities, and utility design.

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and various design software to develop engineering plans, models, and construction documentation.

• Carry out and supervise land surveys.

• Create grading, drainage, roadway, and utility plans in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Evaluate and interpret survey reports, maps, and legal land descriptions.

• Offer technical advice and recommendations on design viability and cost-effective solutions.

• Execute site grading and earthwork, design access roads, stormwater systems, hydraulic and hydrological plans, detention ponds, erosion and sedimentation controls, infrastructure, and parking lot layouts.

• Analyze as-built and redline data and adjust plans as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in English is required.

• A portfolio is a prerequisite.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and other civil engineering design tools is essential.

• Background in land development, public works, grading, and utility design is necessary.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Grading Plans is a must.

• Familiarity with Drainage Plans and calculations is required.

• Understanding of Storm Utility plans and calculations is mandatory.

• Acquainted with Utility plans and calculations for Water, including relevant drawings, is essential.

• Knowledge of Utility plans and calculations for Sewer, including pertinent drawings, is required.

• Strong grasp of zoning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting procedures.

• Ability to interpret topographic and boundary surveys effectively.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management capabilities.

• Familiarity with Civil 3D is preferred.

• Knowledge of Storm and Sanitary analysis is necessary.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a requirement.

• Familiarity with HEC-RAS / HMS is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Comfortable using Hubstaff time-tracking software.

• Must have a personal computer with internet access.

• Must be eligible to work remotely from Nicaragua; the application will inquire about U.S. citizenship or work permits.

• Availability to utilize Papaya Global or Payoneer for monthly payments is required.

• A 1.5–2 minute voice note in English is necessary.

• Work samples or portfolio must be submitted in PDF format.
