Online Curriculum Design Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Perform an inception review of NP guidance, training materials, field tools, and pertinent external literature.

• Consult with NP field teams through remote interviews and/or focus groups across various country programs.

• Collaborate with academic partners, including the Creating Safer Space initiative at Aberystwyth University.

• Create the curriculum framework, encompassing learning pathways, modules, sessions, objectives, learning durations, sequencing, and prerequisites.

• Develop outlines for sessions, facilitator/narration scripts or content notes, case studies, exercises, reflection prompts, and reading/resource lists.

• Design knowledge assessments, quizzes, a final evaluation, and criteria for completion or certification.

• Present the draft curriculum during a validation session.

• Incorporate consolidated feedback from stakeholders into the final curriculum.

• Produce an inception note, consultation report, draft and final curriculum packages, validation materials, and guidance for digitalization.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced university degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, international humanitarian law, education, or a related discipline.

• Extensive, substantive knowledge of unarmed civilian protection, including protection networks, early warning and early response mechanisms, and community-based protection.

• A minimum of five years experience in designing adult learning curricula, preferably for online or blended formats.

• Demonstrated ability to convert field practice into accessible learning materials.

• Experience collaborating with both operational teams and academic partners.

• Capability to work independently, remotely, and across various time zones.

• All deliverables must be submitted in English and in editable formats.

• The consultant must manage case materials under NP confidentiality and adhere to do-no-harm principles.

• Satisfactory references and appropriate screening checks may be necessary.
