Cisco ThousandEyes Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate discovery workshops and conduct architecture assessments for Cisco ThousandEyes solutions.

• Act as the Level 3+ technical escalation point for intricate BGP, routing, SD-WAN, and platform challenges.

• Develop and document reference architectures, agent deployment standards, dashboard/reporting frameworks, and integration patterns.

• Collaborate with Sales, Presales, and Solution Architecture teams on engagement scoping, Statements of Work, effort estimation, pricing, and client presentations.

• Lead onboarding and migration projects, including the rationalization of legacy monitoring and planning for enterprise-scale agent deployments.

• Provide architectural guidance for ThousandEyes integrations within network, cloud, and SD-WAN environments.

• Conduct client-facing Quarterly Business Reviews and roadmap discussions.

• Mentor Level 1/Level 2 engineers through runbooks, knowledge transfer sessions, and escalation reviews.

• Promote automation and API-based integrations utilizing ThousandEyes API, Python, and Terraform.

• Assess new Cisco ThousandEyes features and spearhead proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Manage technical relationships for strategic and enterprise accounts.

• Engage in global cross-time-zone delivery, including occasional after-hours support for critical escalations or major incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in network engineering/architecture.

• More than 3 years of experience in designing and managing Cisco ThousandEyes deployments at an enterprise level.

• In-depth expertise in ThousandEyes test types, including Network, DNS, HTTP Server, Page Load, Voice, and BGP.

• Familiarity with ThousandEyes agent types: Cloud, Enterprise, and Endpoint.

• Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Cisco Viptela/Meraki SD-WAN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and GCP Interconnect.

• Experience leading client-facing discovery, architecture design, and presales/SOW scoping projects.

• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python, ThousandEyes API, and Terraform.

• CCNP or CCIE, or an equivalent advanced networking certification, is required.

• Experience integrating ThousandEyes with ITSM/SIEM platforms such as ServiceNow and Splunk.

• Excellent executive communication, consulting, and presentation skills.

• Ability to mentor technical teams and lead globally distributed, cross-time-zone projects.

• Advanced certifications are strongly preferred.

• Cisco ThousandEyes certification is strongly preferred.
