Chief Product Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the product vision for the Belong platform and develop a sequenced roadmap that includes staffing and delivery timelines.

• Determine where AI can enhance platform operations and make informed decisions regarding building, buying, and partnering.

• Lead the design and implementation of AI capabilities, including agentic systems, across various areas such as care management, member and provider engagement, utilization management, claims and encounter workflows, and back-office operations.

• Set standards for model selection, evaluation, monitoring, and human oversight.

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams on governance of protected health information, vendor assessments, business associate agreements, and audit trails.

• Be responsible for health plan systems, including enrollment, care management, engagement, quality and Star Ratings reporting, risk adjustment support, and partner analytics.

• Ensure the platform remains compliant with CMS requirements and Model of Care obligations.

• Aim to reduce service costs while maintaining or enhancing service levels and audit performance.

• Oversee planning, prioritization, and release management across product and engineering teams.

• Define and report key product metrics such as adoption, cycle time, defect rates, cost to serve, and partner satisfaction.

• Manage vendor relationships, platform contracts, service levels, and escalations.

• Represent the product during partner due diligence, finalist presentations, and contract negotiations.

• Translate partner needs into roadmap decisions without creating isolated platform builds.

• Support board reporting and fundraising efforts with analyses of technology, costs, and returns.

• Lead product management, design, and technical teams; hire, mentor, and retain team members.

• Collaborate with leaders from clinical, operations, actuarial, finance, and compliance departments.

• Contribute to company strategy as a member of the senior leadership team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of twelve years in product management or product engineering leadership, including at least five years leading a product function at the vice president level or higher.

• Direct experience in developing software for health plans or risk-bearing provider organizations, with required Medicare Advantage experience.

• Proven ownership of an enterprise platform through at least one complete build and scale cycle, from concept to production usage by paying customers.

• Hands-on experience in delivering machine learning or AI features to production, including at least one agentic or large language model-based system operating within a regulated environment.

• Familiarity with CMS requirements related to enrollment, encounter and claims data, Star Ratings, risk adjustment, appeals and grievances, and Model of Care.

• Experience with HIPAA compliance and handling protected health information, vendor security assessments, and audit readiness.

• A track record of delivering results with a small team and a limited budget.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States.

• Eligibility to work in the United States, confirmed through E-Verify.

• Willingness to travel up to 30 percent as needed.
