Chief Procurement Officer – CPO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global procurement strategy for a portfolio with approximately £300m in indirect spending.

• Spearhead the design and execution of a new global procurement operating framework.

• Establish and lead a high-performing global procurement team, focusing on category management and center of excellence capabilities.

• Achieve sustainable savings, cost avoidance, productivity enhancements, and additional business value.

• Collaborate with divisional procurement leaders to enhance and professionalize direct procurement capabilities.

• Cultivate executive and stakeholder relationships, influencing decision-making at the board and senior leadership levels.

• Oversee initiatives related to procurement technology, AI, and digital transformation.

• Enhance supplier risk management, resilience, and governance throughout global operations.

• Generate reports, analytics, and insights regarding spending, savings, supplier performance, and procurement effectiveness.

• Recruit, mentor, and motivate a global procurement leadership team.

• Report directly to the CFO.

• Manage a global team while collaborating with divisional procurement leaders.

• Engage in regular international travel.

• Extensive senior leadership experience in global procurement settings.

• Demonstrated success in transforming decentralized procurement into a centralized or center-led model.

• In-depth knowledge of indirect procurement and category management.

• Proven ability to deliver significant, sustainable savings along with broader commercial value creation.

• Strong familiarity with procurement technology, analytics, AI, and automation.

• Ability to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and influence without relying on hierarchical authority.

• Experience in leading international teams across various geographies and business units.

• Data-driven, commercially savvy, and pragmatic leadership approach.

• Resilience and adaptability required to manage large-scale organizational changes.

• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

• Professional procurement qualifications are highly regarded.
