Chief Procurement Officer – CPO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive global procurement strategy for the BU's indirect spending portfolio.

• Oversee the design and execution of a new global procurement operating framework.

• Establish and manage a high-achieving global procurement organization, encompassing category management and center of excellence functions.

• Achieve sustainable savings, cost avoidance, productivity enhancements, and additional business value.

• Collaborate with divisional procurement leaders to enhance and professionalize direct procurement capabilities.

• Develop robust executive and stakeholder relationships, influencing at the board and senior leadership level.

• Spearhead procurement technology, AI, and digital transformation projects.

• Enhance supplier risk management, resilience, and governance across global operations.

• Generate reports, analytics, and insights related to spending, savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.

• Recruit, nurture, and motivate a global procurement leadership team.

• Report directly to the BU Finance Lead.

• Engage in regular travel, including international trips.

• Extensive senior leadership experience in global procurement settings.

• Proven ability to transform decentralized procurement into a centralized or center-led structure.

• In-depth knowledge of indirect procurement and category management.

• Experience in delivering significant, sustainable savings while creating broader commercial value.

• Strong grasp of procurement technology, analytics, AI, and automation.

• Credibility to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and influence without reliance on hierarchy.

• Proven experience in delivering capabilities across multiple geographies and business units.

• A data-driven, commercially savvy, and pragmatic leadership approach.

• Resilience and adaptability required to manage large-scale organizational change.

• Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.

• Professional procurement certifications are advantageous.
