This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
β’ Assume responsibility for the operating load and become the central figure through whom the company operates, decreasing the founder's role as the escalation point for eight departments.
β’ Manage delivery throughput while ensuring quality standards are met and minimizing failure rates.
β’ Develop the operational rhythm, which includes weekly accountability meetings, quarterly goals with designated owners, and a company scorecard consisting of eight to twelve key metrics.
β’ Identify absent operational metrics and drive performance improvements based on them.
β’ Create and document essential processes in an operational manual.
β’ Shorten the time it takes for new hires to become effective contributors.
β’ Implement measurable mistake tracking across delivery, support, and review functions.
β’ Integrate disparate tools to offer real-time visibility throughout the organization.
β’ Recruit and retain operators, including filling open senior-level positions.
β’ Assist in executing operational plans for two geographic market expansions.
β’ You have successfully scaled a delivery organization from a small team to a larger workforce, and you can discuss the challenges encountered during this process.
β’ You have managed a P&L or have operated closely enough to be accountable for unit economics.
β’ You possess a systems-thinking mindset, viewing the business as interconnected loops, and focus on addressing the actual constraints rather than the most vocal complaints.
β’ You prioritize process and automation over increasing headcount.
β’ You are a clear and direct writer, as a significant portion of this role involves making decisions understandable to those who were not present in discussions.
β’ You uphold high standards and have a track record of hiring individuals who share this commitment.
β’ You possess the emotional intelligence necessary to restructure a department while maintaining the existing workforce.
β’ You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, performing unglamorous tasks, and working within a business that is still defining its direction.
β’ Bonus: Experience in high-volume logistics, gig-economy platform operations, fintech or KYC onboarding, or manufacturing throughput.
β’ Bonus: Experience with multi-state or cross-border operations.
