This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Oversee all financial, accounting, treasury, and investor relations functions
• Formulate and implement financing strategies, capital formation, and fundraising in collaboration with the CEO
• Supervise financial planning, reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and audit processes
• Create scalable financial operations for pharmaceutical research and development, clinical development, and future commercial endeavors
• Manage working capital, optimize costs, forecast cash flow, and oversee annual budgeting and equity administration
• Coordinate insurance coverage and manage risk effectively
• Establish communication with investors and the Board while engaging potential investors
• Lead mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and strategic partnership dealings
• Provide financial leadership for long-term planning and cross-functional growth initiatives
• Collaborate with the CEO, senior leadership, Board, Legal, Compliance, and People teams
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
• Extensive knowledge in life sciences corporate financial strategy, planning, and capital management
• Proven success in fundraising across both private and public capital markets along with investor relations
• Demonstrated experience with transactions including mergers, acquisitions, licensing, IPOs, and strategic exits
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, compliance, and financial reporting
• Experience in developing scalable systems, processes, and teams in a fast-paced growth environment
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
• Strong ethical judgment, professionalism, and discretion
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is mandatory
• Over 10 years of financial leadership experience in life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors, including clinical-stage organizations
• Experience in supporting a biotech startup through late-stage clinical development and initial commercialization
• Familiarity with top-tier investment banks and analysts in the MedTech and Biopharma industries
• Knowledge of venture-backed biotech financing structures, non-dilutive options, and grants
• A track record of preparing organizations for readiness at the public company level
• Established relationships within the orthopedic industry with potential strategic partners
