This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Take charge of the front end of the claims lifecycle for the billing department.
β’ Conduct daily audits of charges, examining clinical documentation to ensure accurate assignment of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
β’ Ensure that charges comply with payer-specific billing regulations and medical necessity criteria prior to submission.
β’ Proactively identify and rectify coding discrepancies before claims are submitted.
β’ Daily submission of clean claims via Apero and the clearinghouse.
β’ Oversee the claims system and monitor rejection queues from the clearinghouse.
β’ Investigate and resolve rejections swiftly to prevent issues with timely filing.
β’ Correct and resubmit claims that have been rejected, keeping track of each until acceptance.
β’ Remain updated on coding revisions, changes in payer policies, and industry regulations.
β’ Collaborate with Medical Billing Associates and the Medical Billing Team Lead to address recurring coding or rejection trends.
β’ Report directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare environment.
β’ Strong knowledge of coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), claim submission processes, and handling rejections from clearinghouses.
β’ Outstanding attention to detail and precision in code assignment.
β’ Familiarity with Apero or similar practice management/clearinghouse software is preferred.
β’ Experience in Sleep Medicine and/or DME billing is highly preferred.
β’ Professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) is advantageous but not mandatory.
