Charge Analysis Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct daily charge audits by examining clinical documentation to ensure correct assignment of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.

• Confirm that charges comply with payer-specific billing regulations and medical necessity standards prior to submission.

• Proactively identify and rectify coding discrepancies before claims are submitted.

• Daily submission of accurate claims through Apero and the clearinghouse.

• Oversee the claim system and clearinghouse rejection queues; investigate and resolve rejections promptly to prevent timely-filing issues.

• Amend and resubmit any rejected claims, ensuring each one is tracked until acceptance.

• Remain updated on coding revisions, changes in payer policies, and industry regulations.

• Work in partnership with Medical Billing Associates and the Medical Billing Team Lead to address ongoing coding or rejection trends.

• Report directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare environment.

• Solid understanding of coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), claim submission processes, and handling of clearinghouse rejections.

• Outstanding attention to detail and precision in code assignment.

• Familiarity with Apero or similar clearinghouse/practice management software is preferred.

• Background in Sleep Medicine and/or DME billing is strongly preferred.

• Professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) is advantageous but not mandatory.
