This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for billing and coding audits.

• Address coding-related prebill or post-bill charges, edits, and denials comprehensively.

• Interpret and apply correct coding as well as payer guidelines effectively.

• File appropriate-level appeals or submit medical records to insurance payers.

• Submit and track data to enhance documentation and minimize or avert denials.

• Review, audit, and evaluate documentation to ensure encounter and claim accuracy.

• Collaborate with colleagues and departments to promote coding and billing precision.

• Provide coding education to healthcare providers to support accurate coding initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with payer policies along with coding policies and procedures.

• Handle appeals for professional services and identify root causes of denials.

• Research medical records and communicate with insurance companies as needed.

• Identify trends in payer denials and translate insights into Charge Review edits.

• Assist in developing and implementing training programs for other certified coders.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience in physician coding and billing.

• Professional Coding Certification (CPC) is required.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and investigative capabilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Calendar, Word, Excel, and Teams.

• Experience with EMR systems; NextGen or AMD experience is preferred.

• Excellent time-management skills to effectively handle multiple priorities and a substantial workload.

• Adaptability to perform various tasks in a dynamic work environment with changing demands.

• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet necessary deadlines.

• Proven communication skills and an ability to motivate positively.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and/or anatomy and physiology.

• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding practices.

• Understanding of compliance regulations for governmental and commercial payors.

• Must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
