Certified Pharmacy Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist with the Meds by Mail pharmacy program for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Process prescription orders and carry out prescription data entry tasks.

• Review and handle external prescriptions.

• Provide triage support for pharmacy-related call center inquiries.

• Execute clerical and administrative functions related to pharmacy operations.

• Relay therapeutic change requests to healthcare provider offices.

• Engage with patients and caregivers concerning medication usage within authorized limits.

• Input and maintain data in pharmacy information systems.

• Adhere to VA policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Safeguard patient information while complying with HIPAA, privacy, and information security standards.

• Complete orientation, training, and competency evaluations mandated by the VA.

• Operate under the verification of a supervising VA pharmacist; refrain from making independent clinical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification OR National Healthcareer Association (NHA) pharmacy technician certification.

• Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.

• Demonstrate fluent reading, understanding, speaking, and writing skills in English.

• Exhibit strong computer skills and proficiency in data entry.

• Navigate pharmacy information systems effectively and complete electronic documentation accurately.

• Successfully fulfill required VA credentialing and onboarding processes.

• Successfully pass the necessary background investigation.

• Reside within 50 miles of Cheyenne, WY; Dublin, GA; Chelmsford, MA; Hines, IL; Lancaster, TX; Ladson, SC; Shawnee, KS; Murfreesboro, TN; or Tucson, AZ.

• Maintain all necessary certifications and credentials.

• Perform responsibilities within the boundaries of Pharmacy Technician certification and applicable law.
