Catastrophe Field Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete claim adjustment process independently, without necessitating a Desk Adjuster.

• Gather and evaluate loss-related information while analyzing insurance policy provisions to make informed coverage decisions.

• Authorize claim payments within designated authority limits and propose recommendations for amounts exceeding that threshold.

• Plan and execute prompt inspections of damaged properties.

• Travel to locations affected by claims.

• Document damages through photographs, sketches, and detailed assessments, including areas that remain undamaged.

• Prepare claims correspondence and keep insured parties updated throughout the process.

• Establish the appropriate method and scope of investigation for each claim.

• Engage outside experts or investigators when necessary.

• Analyze investigative findings and claim documentation to ascertain loss details.

• Conduct interviews with insured individuals and witnesses, utilizing both recorded and non-recorded formats.

• Record investigative efforts in claim files accurately.

• Assess coverage eligibility and provide coverage recommendations accordingly.

• Address inquiries promptly and efficiently.

• Utilize various software applications daily to assess loss parameters.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve claims-related challenges.

• Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with state regulations.

• Support catastrophe operations, which may include extended hours during significant events or deployment to affected regions.

• When assisting a Desk Adjuster, relay issues and expert requirements, submit reserve recommendations within 48 hours post-inspection, email reports and estimates to the home office, and provide support with pricing or technical matters.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as the candidate develops in the role.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is highly preferred.

• Previous experience in insurance, whether with a carrier or agency, is required.
