Catastrophe Field Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Manage the adjustment of the entire claim independently, without the need for a Desk Adjuster.

• Gather and assess all facts related to losses.

• Evaluate insurance policies to make decisions or recommendations regarding coverage.

• Issue claim payments within the designated authority level.

• Reach out to insured individuals to arrange property inspections.

• Travel to impacted properties and conduct inspections promptly.

• Capture photographs, create sketches, and assess all damages, including unaffected areas.

• Draft claims correspondence and keep insured parties updated.

• Decide on the method and scope of investigation for each claim.

• Engage outside experts or investigators as needed.

• Review and evaluate investigative materials and claims documentation.

• Conduct interviews with insured individuals and witnesses to gather loss details.

• Record investigative actions in claim files.

• Assess the total value of claims.

• Request and distribute claim checks/payments within the authority limits.

• Provide payment recommendations for amounts exceeding the authority level.

• Address inquiries promptly.

• Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to resolve claims-related challenges.

• Support catastrophe operations, including working additional hours and deploying to affected regions.

• When assisting a Desk Adjuster, communicate issues and expert requirements, submit reserve recommendations within 48 hours of inspection, email reports/estimates to the home office, and aid in pricing and technical matters.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Previous experience in insurance with a carrier or agency.

• Willingness to travel to affected properties and deploy during catastrophe operations.

• Ability to work additional hours during significant events.

• Proficient in using multiple software programs throughout the workday.

• Capability to adhere to compliance with quality standards and state regulations.
