This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Source, onboard, and oversee a network of carriers to meet freight demands.
• Utilize load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop) to align freight with available capacity.
• Negotiate favorable rates with carriers to enhance margins.
• Develop and sustain long-term relationships with carrier partners.
• Coordinate shipment execution and ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate with carriers through phone, email, and system platforms (EDI/TMS).
• Identify opportunities to broaden the carrier network and enhance efficiency.
• Price spot and project freight in real-time, balancing win probability with target margins.
• Benchmark lane rates using DAT RateView, Greenscreens, market indices, and internal historical data.
• Build and maintain lane-level pricing models, cost floors, and margin targets by region, mode, and equipment type.
• Quickly provide high-volume spot quotes on tight SLAs without compromising accuracy.
• Track quote-to-book conversion, win/loss by customer and lane, and recommend pricing adjustments.
• Monitor capacity cycles, fuel trends, seasonality, and lane imbalances, flagging market shifts before they impact margins.
• Collaborate with carrier sales, operations, and account management to ensure pricing reflects actual costs rather than theoretical ones.
• Create reports in Excel and BI tools that leadership utilizes for capacity and commitment decision-making.
• 2–4 years of experience in carrier sales, spot pricing, freight brokerage, logistics, sales, or a customer-facing role.
• Strong grasp of North American lanes and market trends.
• Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets); proficiency in SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is a significant advantage.
• Experience with load boards and rate tools such as DAT, DAT RateView, Truckstop, or Greenscreens.
• Demonstrated negotiation and relationship-building proficiency.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and transportation systems.
• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous.
