This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Guide and assist Merit America learners to achieve success in the program and beyond.
• Oversee learners across various career tracks, including IT Support, Data Analytics, UX Design, Project Management, Cybersecurity, Human Resources, Semiconductor, and Supply Chain Management.
• Develop and implement career coaching sessions while facilitating professional skill enhancement.
• Cultivate supportive learning environments and establish empathetic coaching relationships.
• Track learner progress utilizing both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
• Offer personalized feedback, motivation, guidance, and accountability.
• Tailor coaching approaches to meet individual learner requirements and program objectives.
• Maintain effective communication across coaching teams and cross-functional departments.
• Provide both live and asynchronous career coaching.
• Assist in job sourcing and advocate for entry-level job opportunities.
• Review and refine resumes, prepare learners for interviews, enhance LinkedIn profiles, and advise on networking strategies.
• Monitor job placement progress and validate outcomes through internal reporting systems.
• As a Program Career Coach: support learners from Foundations to Immersion, deliver one-on-one and group coaching, oversee online coursework, intervene when learners are falling behind, coach on time management and goal setting, and assess engagement initiatives.
• As an Alumni Career Coach: manage a substantial post-Immersion employment caseload, provide job-search resources and outreach, collaborate with Employer Partnerships, connect learners with potential employers, and identify systemic barriers to employment success.
• Dedicated to Merit America’s mission of creating pathways to sustainable careers, breaking the cycle of poverty, and promoting upward mobility for low-wage workers.
• Proven track record of embodying Merit America’s core values.

• Enthusiastic about promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
• Strong understanding of resume and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, effective written and verbal communication, LinkedIn networking, and overall job search strategies.
• Prior experience in career coaching, tutoring, education, counseling, youth development, non-profits, or other mission-driven roles.
• Capable of customizing support to meet individual learner needs.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
• Ability to understand, empathize with, and cater to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Proactive and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Outstanding operational and organizational skills; adept at managing schedules and multiple priorities.
• Eager to seek new information, knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
• Availability on weekends.
• Able to work evenings until as late as 10 PM ET and on weekends.
• Must reside within the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
• Full authorization to work in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
