Care Team Member – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as a messenger and convey the faith, mission, and purpose of the organization.

• Engage with companies, employees, and the community, demonstrating character through personal and spiritual disciplines.

• Conduct regular visits to company worksites, typically on a weekly basis, to interact with employees and foster relationships of trust and friendship driven by Christian faith.

• Visit employees or their immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other relevant locations.

• Offer confidential pastoral discussions and referrals for employees and their immediate family members facing personal, family, health, grief, parenting, financial, and various life challenges.

• Assist in planning, conducting, or attending funerals and provide follow-up grief support.

• Make jail visits to employees and their immediate family members when necessary.

• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries, providing encouragement to those affected by tragedies.

• Provide post-termination support for laid-off or terminated employees.

• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities without leading them directly.

• Provide literature and other resources addressing employees' life challenges.

• Represent the companies to clients/customers when ministry services are relevant.

• Participate in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and the role of Care Team Member.

• Execute additional duties as requested within the Letter of Agreement, with the Executive Director of Operations' approval.

• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi is a plus.

• Capability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team and in an interfaith environment.

• Strong listening and interaction skills with clients, employees, and their families.

• Ability to deliver effective community presentations.

• Skills to manage interactions with family members and staff in high-stress situations.

• Spiritual maturity and dedication to a Christian lifestyle in alignment with MCC's Ministry values.

• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.

• A saving faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically based church.

• Ability to interact professionally with diplomacy, patience, and courtesy across diverse groups.

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative working relationships while delivering exceptional customer service.

• Capacity to make administrative and procedural decisions regarding sensitive, confidential matters.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Emotional stability to manage human suffering, emergencies, and associated stresses.

• Analytical skills to identify problems or objectives and follow up effectively.

• Ability to identify solutions and resolve issues.

• Proficiency in interpreting policies and procedures related to the position and keeping others informed.

• Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email messaging, and web-based software applications.

• Willingness to understand and learn new technology programs.

• Must possess an active provincial license and auto insurance.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and reference verification.
