This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as a primary Care Team Member fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCC.

• Serve as a communicator and promoter of faith, mission, and purpose.

• Engage with businesses, employees, and the community in a manner that reflects character through personal and spiritual disciplines.

• Conduct regular visits, typically on a weekly basis, to company worksites to connect with employees and foster relationships built on trust and friendship inspired by Christian faith.

• Visit employees or their immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other locations where care can be provided.

• Facilitate confidential pastoral conversations about family matters, divorce, serious illness, aging parents, death and grief, parenting, financial challenges, and other personal concerns.

• Offer referrals and coordinate specialized support for employees and their immediate family members facing specific challenges.

• Assist in the planning, conducting, or attending of funerals and provide follow-up support for grief.

• Make visits to jails for employees and their immediate family members when necessary.

• Notify individuals of deaths and serious injuries and provide encouragement to those impacted by tragedies.

• Offer post-termination support for employees who have been laid off or terminated.

• Facilitate, but not lead, spiritual enrichment initiatives.

• Provide literature and other resources addressing employees' life challenges.

• Represent companies to clients or customers when ministry services are applicable, including serious illnesses, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals.

• Participate in new employee orientations and explain the Employee Care Service and the role of a Care Team Member.

• Perform additional duties and services requested by company leadership, with the permission of the Executive Director of Operations, in accordance with the Letter of Agreement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English.

• Proficiency in Hindi or Punjabi is mandatory.

• Knowledge of Urdu is an advantage.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary group in an interfaith environment.

• Capacity to accept diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.

• Strong listening and interaction skills when engaging with clients, employees, and families.

• Competence in delivering community presentations.

• Ability to handle interactions with family members and staff during stressful situations effectively.

• High regard for the dignity and worth of clients, employees, and their families.

• Capability to manage stressful situations and document all necessary information according to established standards.

• Spiritual maturity and a commitment to a Christian lifestyle and the values of MCC's Ministry.

• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application.

• Saving faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically based church.

• Professional, diplomatic, patient, and courteous interaction style with diverse groups.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.

• Exceptional customer service skills.

• Capability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential matters.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Emotional resilience to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.

• Proficient in analyzing information, identifying and following up on problems or objectives, and determining solutions.

• Skillful in interpreting relevant policies and procedures and keeping others informed.

• Proficiency in using Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based software applications.

• Ability to quickly learn new technology programs.

• Valid provincial license and auto insurance required.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and reference check.

• Part-time position requiring 3 hours per week.

• No guaranteed minimum hours; assigned hours depend on the availability of the Care Team Member and client needs.
