This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Conduct engineering analyses that encompass preliminary design, detailed design, project cost evaluations, life cycle cost assessments, and equipment selection.
β’ Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring desired outcomes, comprehensive site understanding, adherence to budget and timelines, minimal disruption to plant operations, and effective housekeeping practices.
β’ Create and sustain mass and energy balances for various processes.
β’ Execute engineering evaluations of physical and chemical processes.
β’ Identify solutions to current challenges and concepts, leading the implementation of these solutions.
β’ Draft Capital Investment Requests.
β’ Gather and assess bids from engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring a precision margin within 10%.
β’ Negotiate and finalize purchase and contract agreements.
β’ Deliver comprehensive performance management support for suppliers and contractors, including setting objectives, monitoring progress, providing formal feedback and recognition, and facilitating project-direction communication.
β’ Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Management of Change (MOCs), and Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) on managed projects.
β’ Collaborate with site and corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) departments to ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
β’ Report directly to the Capital Project Engineering Manager.
β’ Offer engineering assistance across Arclinβs global operations, with a primary focus on the Resin and Surfaces sectors.
β’ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
β’ Preferred: Registered Professional Engineer.
β’ 6β10 years of experience in plant maintenance, engineering, or project engineering.
β’ Expertise in chemical processing, specifically with both batch reactors and continuous processes that include integrated absorption towers.
β’ Proven experience in managing a department and leading project teams.
β’ Strong proficiency in understanding P&IDs and process and equipment schematics.
β’ Practical knowledge of PLC and/or DeltaV troubleshooting.
β’ General familiarity with operations and equipment in process plants.
β’ Preferred: Experience with Aspen Plus.
β’ Proficient in AutoCAD.
β’ Experience in HAZOP and PHA facilitation.
β’ Willingness to travel frequently, potentially exceeding 40% of the time.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and PMC.
β’ Understanding of process control systems.
