CAD Drafter – Builder Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Prepare and evaluate calculations as well as staking drawings for residential construction projects.

• Assess foundation closures, which include square measurements, rotation, and setbacks.

• Review and integrate interior walls into slabs according to client staking requests.

• Execute calculations and generate Plot & Drive staking drawings.

• Outline property boundaries and adjust them based on aerial imagery.

• Compute search points for property corners.

• Create and validate proposed foundations.

• Position houses according to third-party site plans.

• Calculate foundation offsets.

• Prepare calculations and drawings for property additions.

• Develop master staking drawings for new subdivisions.

• Compare recorded plats with CAD files to identify any discrepancies.

• Incorporate centerline control and label recorded plats accordingly.

• Upload finalized files into STARS.

• Establish separate drawing surfaces for calculating dirt quantities.

• Prepare and distribute completed dirt calculations to client contacts.

• Create closing as-built surveys for Rockford.

• Operate under the guidance of the Drafting Manager.

• Oversee multiple residential construction drafting projects while adhering to deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

• An Associate's or Technical Degree, or higher, is preferred.

• At least 4 years of successful experience in professional drafting within the surveying industry.

• Practical experience with CAD.

• Demonstrated professional skills in Civil 3D and surveying.

• Familiarity with CAD drafting and/or surveying calculations.

• Ability to read and interpret site plans, construction documents, and recorded plats.

• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision.

• Capability to identify inconsistencies between drawings, plats, and field data.

• Proficiency in managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

• Willingness to learn client-specific processes and software.

• Competent in independently utilizing job-related software, e-technology, and cloud solutions.

• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.

• Assertive problem-solver with an action-oriented team player mentality.

• Flexible, positive, and client-service-focused attitude.

• Experience in construction surveying, land surveying, civil engineering, or residential construction is advantageous.
