C++ Software Engineer, Endpoint State & Control

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +16 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage the testing infrastructure and test coverage for two ongoing C++ development initiatives.

• Engage in feature development for systems-level software applications.

• Establish and uphold endpoint behavior across managed environments.

• Create essential controls that empower IT teams to define, enforce, and sustain endpoint security posture.

• Work on tools utilized by IT teams and managed service providers to monitor, manage, and secure endpoints at scale.

• Collaborate within a curious and dynamic technical environment, adapting workflows to integrate AI tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience with C++ programming.

• Strong foundational knowledge of C++, including memory management, RAII, STL, smart pointers, and build systems.

• Familiarity with CMake is preferred.

• Genuine interest in systems-level software, encompassing OS APIs, processes, file systems, and services.

• Experience in writing or maintaining automated tests in C++ using tools like Google Test, Catch2, CTest, or similar.

• Comfortable with inquiry and working in areas where some answers are still being explored.

• Able to adapt workflows to incorporate AI tools effectively.

• Strong learning orientation with the capability to quickly familiarize oneself with new systems, APIs, and patterns.

• Preferred: Exposure to Windows systems programming, including Windows APIs, WINAPI, WinBase, Registry access, and process management.

• Preferred: Familiarity with CMake and vcpkg build environments.

• Preferred: Experience with mocking or dependency-injection testing frameworks such as Google Mock.

• Preferred: Cross-platform exposure in C++.

• Preferred: Background in or a genuine interest in security software.

• Preferred: Familiarity with CTest or structured CI testing pipelines.

• Must reside in an eligible U.S. state.
