This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Execute and create CPSR-compliant purchase orders based on authorized requisitions, RFPs, bids, and procurement documentation.

• Carry out tactical purchasing responsibilities to ensure the continuity of daily buying operations.

• Facilitate supplier compliance regarding Engineering Change Notices.

• Discuss supplier performance and address issues related to pricing, quality, timing, claims, and contract disputes.

• Utilize knowledge of commercial contract law and negotiation techniques to evaluate risks and secure advantageous terms and conditions.

• Provide assistance during negotiations when necessary.

• Develop and sustain supplier relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors.

• Monitor demand and spending patterns by commodity category.

• Report on cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives.

• Keep accurate, audit-ready vendor agreements and procurement documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 2 years of experience in government purchasing.

• Capability to comprehend military specifications and interpret blueprints.

• Understanding and compliance with laws related to procurement, contracts, and contract breaches.

• Knowledge of price and cost analysis methods.

• Excellent negotiation skills.

• Preferred: Experience with Costpoint ERP.

• Preferred: Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI.

• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the location in Melbourne, Florida or Huntsville, Alabama.
