This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collect and evaluate business requirements across payment solutions, including accounts, transfers, foreign exchange (FX), and customer onboarding.
• Develop functional and non-functional requirements, user stories with acceptance criteria, and comprehensive scenarios, including edge cases.
• Create data models, status flows, and process diagrams utilizing BPMN and sequence diagrams.
• Define APIs and integrations with external payment service providers and partner banks.
• Serve as the technical liaison for external payment providers and partner banks.
• Establish reconciliation and reporting requirements in collaboration with Finance and Compliance.
• Assist Engineering and QA throughout the specification and release phases, including acceptance testing.
• Analyze production issues.
• Keep product documentation up to date.
• Over 3 years of experience as a business or systems analyst in payments, fintech, an Electronic Money Institution (EMI), a bank, or a payment provider.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end payment process — from initiation to settlement, including handling rejections, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Proven experience in integrating with external payment providers or partner banks, including managing errors and failures.
• Knowledge of e-money and payment standards and regulations (EMI, safeguarding, ISO 20022, SEPA, SWIFT, PSD2, PCI DSS).
• Strong proficiency in writing requirements and user stories, as well as modeling data and processes (BPMN, sequence diagrams).
• Experience in designing APIs and integration contracts (e.g., OpenAPI).
• SQL skills for data validation and verification independently.
• Structured thinking ability — you ask insightful questions instead of making assumptions.
• Excellent written English skills.
• Experience with KYC/KYB, sanctions and PEP screening, or transaction monitoring, ideally with a KYC provider like Sumsub.
• Background working with a Banking as a Service (BaaS) provider or directly involved in partner-bank integration.
• Familiarity with local and international payment schemes across various regions.
• Experience working in a small team without dedicated technical writers or QA analysts.
