Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Facilitate sessions to gather requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes adhering to BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation utilizing Appian's capabilities.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers to craft workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Aid in Agile delivery by refining the backlog, planning sprints, and clarifying requirements.

• Assist in the development of test cases and scenarios; support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Ensure that delivered solutions meet business requirements and adhere to organizational standards.

• Analyze and verify that business processes and integration points align with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to promote clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides for documentation repositories with proper governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Possess a minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong grasp of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience in projects related to Appian or other BPM/low-code platforms.

• Capability to develop clear and comprehensive requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features such as process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience with data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Proficient with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar for backlog management.
