Business Process Analyst, Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and outline business processes

• Convert requirements into functional specifications that steer development

• Facilitate user interaction with PeopleSoft data and workflows through Appian interfaces

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts

• Analyze and document business processes utilizing BPMN standards

• Identify process inefficiencies, gaps, and automation possibilities using Appian

• Develop functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces

• Support Agile delivery by refining the backlog, planning sprints, and clarifying requirements

• Generate test cases and scenarios, and assist with system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Ensure solutions align with business expectations and meet organizational standards

• Integrate business processes and connection points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to foster clarity and consensus

• Create process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in governed document repositories

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later

• U.S. Citizenship required

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capability to obtain and maintain one

• Strong grasp of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement

• Experience in Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects

• Proficient in creating comprehensive and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

• Appian Certified Analyst highly preferred

• Knowledge of Appian features including process models, interfaces, records, and data types

• Experience with data modeling and workflow design

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus

• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to secure, high-quality solutions

• Willingness to travel up to 10%
