Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and outline business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications that guide development efforts.

• Facilitate user interactions with PeopleSoft data and workflows through Appian interfaces.

• Organize requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes applying BPMN standards.

• Detect process inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation using Appian.

• Transform business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Aid Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarifying requirements.

• Assist in developing test cases and scenarios; support system testing and user acceptance testing.

• Ensure solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Align business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to clarify and reach agreement on requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher.

• Must possess U.S. Citizenship.

• Requires a minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Solid understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience in Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects.

• Capability to produce clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features such as process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience with data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog-management tools.
