Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Facilitate sessions to gather requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes in accordance with BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and automation opportunities using Appian.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers to create workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarifying requirements.

• Assist in developing test cases and scenarios, and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Ensure that the delivered solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Analyze and verify that business processes and integration points correspond with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to achieve clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides within governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong comprehension of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience working on Appian or similar BPM/low-code platform projects.

• Ability to produce clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features, including process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Proficient in using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools.
