Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Facilitate sessions to gather requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes in accordance with BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation utilizing Appian capabilities.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers to create workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Aid in Agile delivery by refining the backlog, planning sprints, and clarifying requirements.

• Assist in the development of test cases and scenarios; support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Ensure that delivered solutions fulfill business expectations and adhere to organizational standards.

• Analyze and confirm that business processes and integration points are compatible with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Lead workshops and working sessions to enhance clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides within document repositories, ensuring proper governance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or newer.

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Possession of a minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capability to obtain and maintain one.

• In-depth understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience with Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects is essential.

• Proficient in creating precise and comprehensive requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is required.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are necessary.

• Appian Certified Analyst status is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of Appian features such as process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design is advantageous.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar for backlog management.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering secure, high-quality solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
