Business Process Analyst, Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate business requirements and outline business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications that guide development efforts.

• Facilitate user interaction with PeopleSoft data and workflows via Appian interfaces.

• Conduct sessions to gather requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes adhering to BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation using Appian.

• Develop functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Assist in Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarifying requirements.

• Create test cases and scenarios while supporting system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Ensure solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Align business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to clarify and achieve consensus on requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical documentation in governed repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience in Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects is essential.

• Proven ability to create comprehensive and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Excellent skills in communication and stakeholder management.

• Appian Certified Analyst designation is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of Appian features, including process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Proficient with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools.

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering secure, high-quality solutions.

• Must reside in AL, CA, CT, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NC, OR, RI, SC, TX, VA, DC, WV, or NJ.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
