Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and chart business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications to assist the development team.

• Facilitate user engagement with PeopleSoft data and workflows within Appian interfaces.

• Organize requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes adhering to BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and automation possibilities using Appian.

• Transform business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements clarification.

• Develop test cases and scenarios, and assist in system testing and user acceptance testing.

• Ensure solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Verify that business processes and integration points are compatible with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to achieve clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Produce process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides for governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong comprehension of business process modeling (BPMN) and process improvement methodologies.

• Experience with Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects.

• Ability to create comprehensive and precise requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features, including process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog management tools.

• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering secure, high-quality solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
