Business Process Analyst – Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess business requirements and map out business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications that guide development efforts.

• Facilitate user interactions with PeopleSoft data and workflows through Appian interfaces.

• Organize requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes utilizing BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and automation possibilities within processes using Appian.

• Transform business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Assist in Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarification of requirements.

• Develop test cases and scenarios and support system testing as well as user acceptance testing.

• Ensure that solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Evaluate the alignment of business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to establish clarity and consensus on functional and technical requirements.

• Generate process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical documentation in governed repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or later.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capability to obtain and maintain one.

• Profound understanding of business process modeling (BPMN) and process improvement methodologies.

• Experience working on Appian or other BPM/low-code platform initiatives.

• Capability to produce clear and comprehensive requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication skills and adeptness in stakeholder management.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features such as process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Proficiency with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog-management tools.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to secure, high-quality solutions.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
