Business Process Analyst, Appian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate business requirements and map out business processes.

• Convert requirements into functional specifications that aid the development team.

• Facilitate user interaction with PeopleSoft data and workflows through Appian interfaces.

• Conduct sessions to gather requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

• Analyze and document business processes utilizing BPMN standards.

• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for automation using Appian.

• Transform business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with Appian Architects and Developers on workflows, data models, and user interfaces.

• Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and clarifying requirements.

• Assist in developing test cases and scenarios while supporting system testing and UAT.

• Ensure that solutions align with business expectations and organizational standards.

• Coordinate business processes and integration points with PeopleSoft modules and Appian workflows.

• Conduct workshops and working sessions to achieve clarity and consensus on requirements.

• Create process maps, user stories, functional specifications, and technical guides in governed document repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience with Appian versions 24.x or higher.

• U.S. citizenship required.

• Minimum Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

• Strong grasp of business process modeling (BPMN) and methodologies for process improvement.

• Experience with Appian or other BPM/low-code platform projects.

• Capability to produce clear and detailed requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Appian Certified Analyst is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Appian features, including process models, interfaces, records, and data types.

• Experience in data modeling and workflow design.

• Appian Analyst, Designer, or Practitioner certification is a plus.

• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog-management tools.

• Attention to detail with a focus on delivering secure, high-quality solutions.
