Business Intelligence Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with senior team leaders and colleagues to comprehend business data and information needs.

• Generate new reports or modify existing dashboards.

• Offer subject matter expertise in data management and reporting.

• Lead and oversee the activities of a wide-ranging functional area through departmental managers.

• Partner with senior management to establish strategic objectives and plans.

• Create structured reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to enhance business awareness and decision-making.

• Design and manage workflows to automate the processes of data ingestion, validation, and report delivery.

• Develop new reporting frameworks and information processes.

• Conduct market, economic, demographic, financial, and competitive analyses.

• Produce support documentation and training materials for system users and administrators.

• Perform interviews over the phone and in-person to collect information.

• Prepare surveys and analyze focus group results.

• Supervise the analysis of competitive venues and marketing opportunities.

• Create comprehensive financial models.

• Assess funding and return-on-investment metrics.

• Execute market research and financial analysis for various projects.

• Investigate trends within the convention, sports, and entertainment industries.

• Interview facility managers to evaluate facility performance.

• Design and implement surveys targeted at event organizers, show promoters, and venue managers.

• Develop comparative studies between proposed facilities and existing ones.

• Meet with clients on-site and conduct field research.

• Apply proprietary models to predict financial operations and assess economic and fiscal impacts.

• Formulate facility recommendations, demand projections, and financial forecasts in collaboration with senior staff.

• Maintain and enhance the database and industry connections.

• Execute other responsibilities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution and 10+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior management experience.

• Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management abilities, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.

• Highly skilled in writing, telephone communication, and internet research.

• Business acumen in client relations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Self-motivated individual.

• Expertise in interactive dashboards and enterprise reporting using Microsoft Power BI.

• Proficiency in DAX, including the ability to write complex measures, manage calculation and filter contexts, and utilize time intelligence.

• Strong SQL programming skills for querying, aggregating, and manipulating data in relational databases such as Snowflake, SQL Server, or Azure Synapse.

• Understanding of data modeling principles, especially in designing optimized star schemas.

• Proficient in Power Query/M language for data ingestion and cleansing.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines such as Azure Data Factory or dbt.

• Knowledge of cloud data platforms.

• Experience in Microsoft Power BI Service administration, app workspaces, and deployment pipelines.

• Familiarity with data sources such as Salesforce, SAP, Excel/CSV, REST APIs, and Jira.

• Experience with data warehouses including Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, and SQL Server.
