Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ETL processes.

• Collaborate with various departments to gain insights into data structures and schemas.

• Compose and optimize SQL queries and utilize alternative methods for data ingestion.

• Create dashboards and visualizations using Domo.

• Examine data and trends to uncover insights and anomalies.

• Ensure datasets are validated for accuracy, completeness, and proper structure.

• Aid in managing BI datasets, dashboards, cards, and user permissions.

• Resolve BI platform issues encountered by users.

• Document datasets, ETLs, and lessons learned throughout the process.

• Enhance workflows and efficiency while staying updated on Domo, data analytics, and BI best practices.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

• Collaborate closely with the Business Intelligence Manager within the Finance division to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

• Practical experience with a contemporary BI platform such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.

• Basic SQL proficiency adequate for data extraction.

• Experience in creating charts and visualizations, effectively communicating complex data intuitively.

• Capability to convert vague inquiries or challenges into data-driven solutions.

• Self-motivated learner who takes initiative on projects from inception to completion.

• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a professional skeptical approach.

• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and reusable queries, ETLs, and dashboards.

• Positive demeanor and a strong work ethic.

• Capability to work independently as well as within a team setting.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Domo.

• Nice-to-have: Experience in building comprehensive dashboards.

• Nice-to-have: Background in documentation/knowledge base tools such as Confluence.

• Nice-to-have: Experience in retail sales or tourism.

• Nice-to-have: Automation experience with tools like Power Automate, Shortcuts, Workflows, Python, or Power Query.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI tools beyond basic LLM conversations.

• Bonus: Experience with UKG Payroll and/or Cognos.

• Bonus: Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.

• Bonus: Experience retrieving data from APIs and integrating various data sources.

• Bonus: Knowledge in statistical analysis, including linear regression and standard deviation.
