This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Lead the identification of business capture opportunities that align with the international engagement strategy.
• Discover new market opportunities to enhance the organization's growth potential.
• Assess company capabilities in relation to customer requirements, budgets, timelines, and competitor offerings.
• Develop and nurture relationships with customers, decision-makers, and key influencers.
• Collect and analyze customer feedback to enhance satisfaction and solutions while fostering repeat business opportunities.
• Evaluate and respond to customer inquiries to drive actions and secure commitments.
• Oversee bid and proposal processes involving internal stakeholders and obtain executive approvals.
• Utilize knowledge of company products, services, and processes to shape customer requirements and influence purchasing decisions.
• Create and revise campaign plans, monitoring progress, customer reactions, and opportunity statuses.
• Engage in trade shows, conferences, and customer interactions.
• Coordinate follow-up initiatives with Marketing to boost brand awareness and industry presence.
• Contribute to the international market strategy focusing on LATAM defense and government clients.
• Over 15 years of relevant experience in the aerospace or defense sector with a bachelor's degree, or over 13 years of related experience with a master's degree; equivalent military experience will also be acceptable.
• Prior experience in business development or defense sales, demonstrating a history of successful business capture.
• Experience in working with LATAM defense and/or government clients, with a proven record of developing and closing opportunities in the region.
• Capability to assess market opportunities, analyze customer needs and competitor offerings, and align capture strategies with organizational objectives and regional priorities.
• Outstanding cross-cultural interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate, maintain, and advance long-term relationships with senior regional stakeholders.
• Proven capacity to engage and influence decision-makers and advisors.
• Proficient in clearly communicating and customizing messages for various audiences; comfortable delivering presentations, reports, and updates.
• Ability to translate technical requirements and intricate UAS capabilities into customer-relevant value propositions.
• Skilled in coordinating bid and proposal efforts across geographically dispersed teams.
• Adept at leading through influence and securing support without direct authority.
• Capable of adjusting to changing priorities, geopolitical dynamics, and evolving customer needs.
• Proficient in prioritizing opportunities based on strategic value, win probability, and long-term market plans.
• Familiar with U.S. and international defense sales frameworks (FMS, DCS) and regional procurement processes.
• Working knowledge of export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
• Experience collaborating with local partners, representatives, or offset/industrial participation arrangements in LATAM.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is highly preferred.
• Experience utilizing planning and tracking tools, including CRM and pipeline management systems.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 60% of the time; some domestic travel may also be necessary.
