This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with marketplace companies along with potential sponsors and exhibitors.
• Conduct targeted outreach to new prospects, existing leads, and businesses within specific geographic regions.
• Research potential companies and pinpoint relevant decision-makers.
• Build and sustain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Develop tailored outreach and follow-up strategies.
• Establish relationships with prospective sponsors, exhibitors, and industry contacts.
• Attend around 1 to 2 external industry events monthly to network, prospect, and generate new business.
• Represent the company and its events in a professional manner at external and customer-facing engagements.
• Utilize networking, referrals, and existing relationships to forge new business opportunities.
• Comprehend prospect objectives and suggest aligned sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities.
• Convey the value of participating in events.
• Independently oversee assigned sponsor and exhibitor opportunities, involving the Senior Manager for complex or strategic cases.
• Develop increasing autonomy to manage strategic opportunities and the complete sales cycle.
• Maintain precise prospect and opportunity data in the CRM.
• Monitor outreach, meetings, qualified opportunities, and pipeline activities; modify strategies to enhance performance.
• Work towards established business development and pipeline targets.
• Identify chances to broaden sponsorship and exhibitor participation in new geographic markets and target segments.
• Share insights on prospects and events to aid in new business identification.
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Field Event Sales to align activities with sales priorities.
• Work together with internal teams to support prospects throughout the sales process.
• Highly proactive approach to business development and prospecting.
• Excellent relationship-building abilities with a knack for establishing trust across diverse stakeholders.
• Comfortable networking and forming connections in both formal and informal environments.
• Capability to comprehend prospect needs and align them with suitable opportunities.
• Thoughtful persistence and strong follow-through without being excessively transactional.
• Entrepreneurial and inquisitive mindset with the capacity to identify and pursue opportunities independently.

• Familiarity with Google Workspace, CRM and email tools, Slack, and AI-powered productivity and research tools.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account development, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in event sales, sponsorships, exhibitor sales, or the events industry is preferred.
• Proven capability to manage a sales pipeline and create new business opportunities.
• Experience engaging company owners, partnership leaders, and business development stakeholders.
• Experience in a remote or distributed work environment is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to internal events and approximately 1 to 2 external industry events monthly.
