Business Development Research Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research to discover potential corporate, government, and nonprofit partners that align with NatureServe's mission and strategic goals.

• Investigate prospective companies to understand their organizational structure and pinpoint the right decision-makers.

• Identify 2–3 high-quality contacts per company that fit the target roles.

• Confirm contacts' employment status, titles, business units, and business email addresses utilizing LinkedIn, company websites, public sources, and email verification tools.

• Compile findings into shared trackers, documenting names, titles, business units, emails, verification status, LinkedIn profiles, and additional notes.

• Highlight companies lacking suitable verified contacts and those containing outdated or inaccurate information.

• Enter and manage lead and contact details in Salesforce and shared research trackers.

• Categorize leads based on outreach priority.

• Prepare outreach lists and background materials for the business development and sales teams.

• Conduct background research on potential partners prior to outreach or meetings.

• Monitor outreach activities and results.

• Provide light administrative support regarding partnership tracking and pipeline status.

• Participate in weekly check-ins to review completed lists and refine the approach.

• Clearly communicate research findings to the team.

• Perform additional duties as required.

• Excellent research and information-gathering abilities.

• Proficient in navigating LinkedIn, company websites, and public sources to locate accurate contacts.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry tasks.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Self-driven and capable of managing your own time effectively in a remote setting.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Eagerness to learn CRM or database tools.

• Interest in biodiversity, environmental data, GIS, sustainability, or related fields.

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate, in environmental science, data, GIS, sustainability, business, or a related discipline.

• A strong curiosity about the application of data and technology in addressing environmental challenges is highly preferred.
