This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Establish, nurture, and sustain robust in-person connections with existing and potential influencers within the designated territory.
• Drive new sales through proactive outreach, systematic territory planning, and relationship development.
• Increase product market share by identifying and cultivating new referral sources.
• Assess influencer needs and forge productive, long-lasting partnerships that facilitate consistent lead generation.
• Offer technical expertise and consultative assistance to government representatives and referral partners.
• Inform partners about product functionality, reporting systems, and compliance features.
• Participate in trade shows, industry conferences, and state-level meetings related to alcohol monitoring and ignition interlock initiatives.
• Act as a territory authority on state regulations, impaired driving laws, ignition interlock requirements, and alcohol monitoring standards.
• Create and implement competitive sales strategies tailored to local market conditions.
• Collect market intelligence to uphold Smart Start’s competitive edge.
• Maintain expertise in Smart Start products, CRM tools, and monitoring systems.
• Conduct regular face-to-face meetings to enhance referral networks and territory expansion.
• Report to the Director of Business Development.
• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
• MUST reside in Illinois, within a commutable distance of the Chicago Metropolitan area.
• Demonstrated experience in sales or business development.
• Ability to operate independently in a field-based setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Capability to consistently demonstrate and utilize breath alcohol testing devices.
• Valid driver’s license and capacity to operate a motor vehicle.
• Experience in impaired driving, ignition interlock, or alcohol monitoring programs is highly preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Approximately 80% of the time spent in the field.
• About 40% overnight travel required, including occasional weekend travel.
• Above-average computer skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with CRM and proprietary software systems.
