This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Enhance market presence and cultivate strategic influencer partnerships within a designated region.
• Build, nurture, and sustain in-person relationships with both existing and potential influencers.
• Drive new sales through proactive outreach, strategic territory planning, and relationship development.
• Increase product market share by identifying and fostering new referral sources.
• Assess influencer requirements and establish long-term partnerships that facilitate lead generation.
• Offer technical knowledge and consultative assistance to government officials and referral partners.
• Educate partners on product functionalities, reporting tools, and compliance features.
• Participate in trade shows, industry conferences, and state-level meetings.
• Act as a territory expert on state regulations, impaired driving laws, ignition interlock standards, and alcohol monitoring protocols.
• Formulate and implement competitive sales strategies that align with local market conditions.
• Collect market intelligence to ensure Smart Start's competitive edge.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency in Smart Start products, CRM systems, and monitoring tools.
• Conduct regular face-to-face meetings to reinforce referral networks and promote territory growth.
• Report directly to the Director of Business Development.
• Work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, in a remote role primarily focused on fieldwork with travel across Greater Southern California.
• MUST live in the Southern California region.
• Demonstrated experience in sales or business development.
• Capability to work independently in a field-based setting.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in demonstrating and using breath alcohol testing devices on a regular basis.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a vehicle.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Experience in impaired driving, ignition interlock, or alcohol monitoring programs is strongly preferred.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
• Approximately 80% of time spent in the field.
• Approximately 40% overnight travel, including occasional weekend trips.
• Above-average computer skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with CRM and proprietary software systems.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Capability to perform the listed physical tasks, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
