This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Identify, prospect, and acquire new customer accounts within the designated territory.
• Establish and nurture relationships with both operational and executive levels of targeted organizations.
• Maintain a comprehensive sales pipeline that includes next steps, probability ratings, and timelines.
• Achieve or surpass revenue and gross margin goals for new accounts.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate customer operations and effectively position APC’s value proposition.
• Create proposals, facilitate ROI discussions, and prepare competitive bids.
• Assist customers during the onboarding process and promote product/service adoption.
• Support contract negotiations in accordance with pricing guidelines and margin objectives.
• Observe market trends, competitor strategies, and customer purchasing behaviors.
• Relay field insights to Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Product teams.
• Discover opportunities in new territories, applications, and customer segments.
• Ensure accurate CRM entries and maintain forecasting precision.
• Aid in the adoption of new CRM workflows and reporting tools.
• Utilize sales enablement tools and stay updated on current product knowledge.
• Participate in safety and technical training sessions.
• Comply with ATF, MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
• Organize product delivery, blast schedules, and customer support in collaboration with field services.
• Work together with Marketing, Technical Services, Product Specialists, Finance, and Operations.
• Represent APC at industry associations, trade shows, conferences, and regional events.
• Engage in outbound marketing and lead generation activities.
• Enhance APC’s brand reputation through professional communication with customers.
• Report directly to the Regional Sales Manager or LLC President / VPGM.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5+ years of experience in outbound sales, business development, or technical industrial sales.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
• Strong proficiency in CRM systems and familiarity with structured sales processes.
• Knowledge of explosives, technical solutions, blasting services, or safety-critical industrial settings preferred.
• Experience in selling to construction, quarrying, mining, or other heavy industrial sectors.
• Understanding of value-based selling, price-value discussions, and competitive differentiation.
• Background in private equity-owned businesses or organizations undergoing commercial transformation.
• Strong grasp of explosives applications, customer production cycles, and key industry drivers.
• Working knowledge of pricing models, margin expectations, and cost-to-serve factors.
• Ability to learn about blasting fundamentals, product specifications, relevant software tools and applications, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in CRM usage, pipeline management, and structured sales processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to thrive in field-based, fast-paced environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Operations, Field Services, and Marketing teams.
• Must complete all required certifications and maintain professional standards in line with explosives industry expectations.
• Willingness to work outdoors at customer sites in various weather conditions, walk/stand, and navigate uneven terrain.
