This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Proactively identify and engage potential customers while nurturing relationships.
• Develop and expand opportunities for Armstrong Flooring, Crossville Tile, and AHF Contract business.
• Formulate strategies to target prospective clients and present suitable AHF product solutions.
• Drive revenue growth, enhance customer acquisition, and improve profitability.
• Create specifications within the Architect/Design community, end users, and flooring contractors.
• Foster and maintain relationships with end users, architects/interior designers, flooring contractors, and key buyers.
• Analyze purchase requirements and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
• Present, promote, and sell the company's products and services to both new and existing clients.
• Identify new service opportunities to enhance sales with current accounts.
• Connect with new customers through networking, social media, and cold outreach.
• Develop external networks to gather market intelligence.
• Create and implement sales-boosting marketing campaigns, special events, and sponsorships.
• Collaborate with customer support and management during specification and order fulfillment processes.
• Communicate project specifics for successful execution.
• Assist clients with budgeting while preparing pricing and bids.
• Prepare sales forecasts and projection data.
• Maintain customer profiles, contacts, and account updates within the CRM system.
• Support management with annual, quarterly, and monthly strategy and sales planning.
• Aid management in identifying product gaps or areas for improvement.
• Travel in the field 75–80% of the time, including overnight travel for 10–20% of that duration.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in an outside sales role engaging with a diverse client base.
• Knowledge of flooring products is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in selling to large corporate clients.
• Familiarity with specifications, design, and required phases.
• Strong understanding of construction, real estate, and job site conditions.
• Willingness to travel extensively by car and air for training and events.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Adequate vision to clearly see tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including extreme weather, noisy, dusty, plant, and office settings.
• Capacity for analytical thinking, decision-making, option development, and solution implementation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
