This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.
• Source a pipeline of government-backed loans.
• Structure lending opportunities and price loans in accordance with bank guidelines and fee/premium strategies.
• Conduct initial credit analysis for lending operations.
• Process SBA and USDA documentation.
• Originate both SBA real estate and non-real estate loan products, as well as USDA Business and Industry Program loans.
• Serve as the bank’s representative and subject matter expert in SBA and USDA financing.
• Manage applications from initial submission through decision-making, closing, and funding stages.
• Cultivate customer relationships while identifying suitable loan, deposit, and banking products.
• Refer non-SBA/USDA opportunities to the appropriate bank partners.
• Analyze financial statements of potential clients and advise them on credit or qualification issues.
• Gather financial and other necessary documentation for the processing, underwriting, and closing of SBA loans.
• Initiate business contacts and promote the bank's products and services.
• Develop and sustain a pipeline of government-backed loans.
• Advise customers on their SBA and USDA financing requirements and procedures.
• Review loan applications and assess customer financial status, creditworthiness, and property against program criteria.
• Identify leads and referrals for Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, and Retail.
• Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to gather outstanding financial, insurance, and documentation items for guarantee preservation and maintenance.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience, including expertise in SBA lending.
• Recent experience in originating SBA loans with an SBA preferred lender.
• Must be bondable.
• Technologically adept and comfortable with various computer systems and online/mobile banking functionalities.
• Ability to comprehend and implement bank loan policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations concerning lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.
• Knowledge of credit analysis functions along with associated requirements and procedures.
• Capable of addressing complex problems while adhering to sound credit management practices, credit policies, regulations, and bank objectives.
• Proficient understanding of the SBA SOP and its loan programs.
• Ability to apply the bank’s policies and procedures in line with the SBA SOP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
• Capacity to work independently, demonstrating initiative and a results-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: Experience in credit analysis.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including reaching, sifting, lifting up to 25 lbs., finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, and effective verbal communication.
• Ability to accurately exchange information with others.
• Adept at close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
