Business Development Manager – Railway, Iberia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and expand key railway accounts in Spain

• Serve as the primary commercial partner for railway accounts

• Pursue new business opportunities with Spanish engineering firms and the Iberian branches of major railway entities

• Participate in events, trade shows, and industry conferences

• Develop business development strategies and market proposals

• Transform leads into contracts through proposals, RFP responses, and negotiations

• Present and demonstrate capabilities across engineering, systems, software, AI, cybersecurity, and safety domains

• Work closely with engineering teams and product managers to create client-centric proposals

• Manage accounts and leads from initial discussions to the finalized agreement

• Travel primarily within the Iberian Peninsula

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in the railway sector in Spain

• A robust network within rolling stock, signalling, and railway engineering sectors

• Demonstrated success in business development or sales in engineering services, software/systems engineering, or digital transformation

• Familiarity with complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes: RFPs, framework agreements, and strategic procurement

• Expertise in contract management and strong negotiation abilities

• Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized, utilizing CRM tools to oversee your pipeline and forecasts

• Proficiency in Spanish and English (C1/C2 Level)

• Active engagement with AI tools in everyday tasks is a plus

• Experience in key account management for large strategic accounts is a plus

• Understanding of train protection and signalling systems (ETCS, ASFA, STM) is a plus
