This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +1 more country.
• Develop and enhance merchant acceptance by identifying, engaging, and activating key Dutch-speaking merchants to adopt and prioritize Wero.
• Broaden Wero’s presence by facilitating new acceptance verticals, including public transport, mobility, services, and point-of-sale environments.
• Lead the onboarding and activation journeys for merchants through successful implementation of Wero.
• Serve as the operational liaison among merchants, acquirers, and EPI teams to address challenges and expedite adoption.
• Represent Wero within the Dutch and European payments ecosystem by participating in industry events, associations, and forming strategic partnerships.
• Convert merchant feedback and market insights into actionable recommendations for Product, Scheme, Pricing, and Membership teams.
• Maintain a robust pipeline and deliver structured reporting to support strategic decision-making and market expansion.
• Report to the Director of Market Acceptance BENELUX and collaborate across Acceptance, Marketing, Product, Scheme, Pricing, and Membership teams.
• Over 6 years of professional experience in Payments, Business Development, Merchant Acceptance, or a related field.
• A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of French or other European languages is an advantage.
• Ability to excel in a remote-first, multicultural setting.
• Strong understanding of the Dutch payments ecosystem and the merchant acceptance landscape.
• Proven track record in payment business development, payment strategy, or merchant acquisition activities.
• Demonstrated capability to guide merchants or partners through the onboarding, activation, and go-live phases.
• Experience collaborating with acquirers, large merchants, or public acceptance organizations.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management, payment integrations, or merchant implementation projects.
• Comfortable using Atlassian Suite, HubSpot CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, and tools for reporting and pipeline management.
• Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all-staff in-person meetups.
