This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Enhance the organization's presence and client portfolio in the U.S.
• Formulate and implement business development strategies to attract new clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
• Identify potential companies and senior decision-makers within targeted client organizations.
• Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in Medical Affairs and Medical Information.
• Generate and nurture qualified opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and related life sciences sectors.
• Execute targeted outreach to establish senior-level connections.
• Utilize industry relationships and networks to uncover potential opportunities.
• Conduct research on target accounts, therapeutic areas, company objectives, and possible business needs.
• Oversee the business development process from prospecting and qualification to meetings, proposals, negotiation, and closing.
• Comprehend prospective clients' medical, scientific, and communication requirements and identify opportunities for agency services.
• Position the organization as a strategic collaborator.
• Create account engagement strategies for enduring client relationships.
• Maintain a qualified and precise business development pipeline.
• Represent the organization at pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical communications, scientific, and industry conferences and events.
• Foster relationships through virtual engagement and in-person interactions.
• Collaborate with scientific, medical, and operational teams to comprehend requirements and devise solutions.
• Keep abreast of industry and therapeutic-area trends to spot emerging opportunities.
• Travel to engage with prospective and existing clients and attend relevant events.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in business development, client acquisition, or commercial growth within a medical communications, healthcare communications, life sciences, or related agency environment.
• Proven track record in developing new business with pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology firms.
• Demonstrated success in personally managing the B2B business development cycle from prospecting to closing.
• Experience in directly engaging with senior stakeholders in Medical Affairs and/or Medical Information, ideally including Heads, Vice Presidents, or Directors.
• Strong understanding of how pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies collaborate with external agency partners.
• Experience in selling or positioning professional services, including medical communications, scientific communications, medical affairs, medical information, or related solutions.
• Experience in identifying and establishing relationships with new pharmaceutical and biotech accounts.
• Strong consultative selling and value-based communication skills.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities.
• Capacity to grasp complex scientific and medical services and articulate their value to prospective clients.
• Experience in representing an organization at industry conferences, congresses, networking events, and scientific meetings.
• Proactive, commercially aware, and self-motivated approach.
• Strong organizational skills with consistent follow-through.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively collaborating with a global team.
• Willingness and capability to travel within California and other parts of the U.S. as necessary.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or a closely related field is preferred.
• Candidates must currently reside in California.
